RSI
A Cook's Kitchen
300 - 400 sq. ft.
Drawing InspirationThe Goldmans wanted a kitchen where they could cook, dine, watch TV and do homework as a family. RSI Kitchen & Bath designed the space to eliminate the issue of "too many cooks in the kitchen." The homeowners wanted a Wolf 60" range as well as the SubZero Pro48 refrigerator, so the kitchen was designed around these two pieces. Two separate islands, one a John Boos table, create a convenient walkway from the range to the sink.
Functional FrillsThe pot rack over the island shows off the beautiful copper cookware and also makes it easily accessible. Cherry cabinets with a dark chestnut stain by Omega Cabinetry provide both kitchen storage and a place to display cookbooks and other favorites.
The Winning PointA Blanco trough sink was installed in the center of one island. Since Gregg and Stacey cook together, they can stand opposite each other to prep and use the convenient center sink.
Judges' Comments"This kitchen was truly designed for two cooks, with restaurant-style amenities and problem-solving design. The two islands provide extra work surface and allow for great traffic flow."
