With a backyard lake beckoning them to the outdoors, Debbie and Mike Hynes longed for an outdoor living space designed specifically for relaxing, gathering with family and enjoying their lakeside view and peaceful surrounding landscape.

Solution:
Seeking the design and building expertise of Certified Remodeler Calvin Fry of Calvin Fry Remodeling, homeowners Mike and Debbie Hynes teamed up with Cal to develop a vision for an enclosed, custom-designed screened porch – taking into account the dimensions of the home and the desired space, while allowing for a seamless and unobstructed view of the lake. With every detail planned, including the absence of exposed wiring, Cal incorporated an impressive cypress wood tongue-and-groove gabled ceiling, siding, baluster rail and 2-by-6 flooring. Bronze-trimmed, charcoal-colored removable fiberglass screens and screened under-decking keep unwanted bugs out. The grand result is a light, airy sanctuary that truly brings the indoors and outdoors together. “We always migrate to the screened porch. We love reading, cat-napping and eating our meals outdoors while the blue herons, cranes and geese decorate the water landscape,” says Debbie. According to Cal, “From all views, the exposed-beam custom screened porch is unique to the area, remarkably different, yet designed specifically to the aesthetics of the home.” The process exceeded the homeowners’ expectations. “Cal answered our questions and followed through – before, during and after construction.”
