Why she loves it:
Filled with traditional, romantic charm and sophistication, interior designer Heidi Hartwig’s living room combines classic furnishings with warm color. “The luscious window treatments pop off the chocolate mink walls, which were painted by a local artist,” says Heidi. Much of the furniture was handpicked and purchased in Florida and shipped to St. Louis. “I love the Century Furniture sofa in the buttery gold fabric with beautiful bullion trim,” says Heidi. Other favorites in the room include the Henredon chair in green velvet damask, the wooden secretary filled with small antiques and the refined, stately lamps and light fixtures.

Why the judges love it:
The dark brown walls are a good choice — they work with both the wood tones of the furniture and the rose and green fabrics and accent colors. This room is everything a successful living room should be: breathtaking and inviting, while retaining a strong feeling of personality and comfort.
