“The circle of life is embodied in the circular, shimmering glass countertop.” – Kris Keller

Every detail was considered when Kris Keller, Allied ASID, and principal of The Design Source, Ltd., and lead designers Doug Ong and Cyndi Schmitz, worked as a team on the Showhouse kitchen design. By incorporating custom cabinetry to complement the reclaimed 25-year-old walnut that influenced the overall design vision of the home, the space evolved beautifully. “The kitchen is an environment that is designed with intention. As designers, we are always thinking about how to customize any space for a particular client's needs,” says Kris.

From Electrolux appliances to the newest eco-friendly frosted glass, maintenance-free Cambria and IceStone® countertops, the kitchen resonates not only with beauty, but also with energy-efficiency, functionality and low environmental impact. Its warmth and universal appeal are unmistakably evident. This earth-conscious kitchen space – with a Pacific northwest vibe – is at once casual and refined with a Zen quality of its own.

Inlays of zebrawood added an extra dimension of pattern and color to the cabinet doors, which are slightly bowed through a time-consuming process of steaming and curving the wood by hand.

The team's specialty is highly functional, beautiful kitchens. A traditional walk-in pantry was replaced with a butler's pantry with cabinetry that was customized for specific storage needs.
