Kirkwood Stair and Millwork

A History of Craftsmanship.
Creating stairs, millwork and doors by hand has always been the work of artisans. Located in Pacific, Missouri set along the hardwood forests and hills carved out of limestone by the scenic Meramec River sits our factory of artisans. We build stairs, carve moldings and make doors that will be admired for hundreds of years in America’s most sought after homes.
With roots in Highland Illinois from 1899, our company moved to Kirkwood, Missouri in the early 1900's, where it took on the name of Kirkwood Stair Company. Emerging as a leader of fine wood stairs and millwork, the company moved to a new 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Pacific, Missouri. Since 1994 Kirkwood Stair and Millwork has been owned by the Berger and Barr families who have invested in technology and continuous improvement, employee training, and processes while maintaining the traditions of great design, detailed hand-craftsmanship and customized service.
Most recently we opened our Home Gallery showroom centrally located in mid-town St. Louis at 744 Hanley Industrial Ct., Brentwood Mo. We offer an array of varying millwork items on display including wood interior and exterior doors, iron doors and gates, Kolbe & Hurd windows, moulding samples and an endless variety of balustrades and stair parts. You can also view some of our beautiful hand made wood countertops.
Today we continue to serve our clientele throughout the Midwest with the passion of old world artisans.

No other architectural element of the interior of the home makes a stronger statement than the staircase.

"Old, worn out doors can make a house look shabby, especially if you are trying to sell and competing with newly built homes. If your interior doors are no longer in pristine condition, consider replacing them with finished or unpainted six-panel doors. A new front door (or a fresh coat of paint and new hardware) can give a 'facelift' to a house and add curb appeal-and don't forget the tax breaks for buying one with an Energy Star label."

We offer a full line of mouldings made from a variety of domestic and exotic hardwoods. Stocking profiles include Poplar & Red Oak while offering Walnut, Mahogany, Cherry, Birch, Oak, Maple, Pine, Brazilian & American Cherry, Alder and many other species in our full mouldings line. All profiles can be transformed into arched casings, curved crowns and even carvings for virtually any millwork product you are looking for to enhance the elegance of your home or project. Matching existing or creating new profiles are a snap with our in-house knife grinding.
