Hand knotted rugs are woven on either a wool or (more commonly) cotton foundation with an immense amount of skill after years of practice by the weavers. Every individual knot on the rug is made by hand without the use of glue or machinery. Hand knotted rugs vary greatly in price due to knots per inch, time, and labor involved. Buying direct can keep the final price down as well. However, some of our hand knotted rugs are in line with machine made or tufted prices. A hand knot is truly the wisest choice in terms of quality and investment, and becomes a treasured family heirloom as the years go by.
