High quality bathroom design is achieved where sophistication meets functionality, and this year’s Bath of the Year winners certainly made the mark.

Designed for a classic, tailored aesthetic, this bath employs moldings applied to both cabinet doors and walls for a custom built-in look. The cool blue of Parma Gray covers the cabinets, walls and trim, lending a sense of serenity and uniformity to the bath. Honed Bianca Carrara marble countertops are dressed up with a backsplash cutout detail that aligns with the wall paneling. Satin nickel plumbing fixtures provide a cool neutral blend, while brushed brass cabinet hardware and lighting elements become the “jewelry” of the space. An organic freestanding tub gives an airy, uncluttered feel. The simple white shower echoes the slipper tub, both leaving a clean, crisp impression. The bath is completed by a separate toilet room and a tall built-in linen cabinet.

Why the judges love it:

This bath keeps a modest, traditional air to it while feeling modern and sophisticated. The design provides a thoughtful use of space and expert use of monochromatic flow.
