For most homeowners, furnishing and decorating a new home doesn’t just happen overnight, it evolves over time. Such was the case for Tom and Susan Csengody, who after nearly nine years in their Creve Coeur residence are still adding, replacing and fine-tuning their grand design.

Peggy Deguire and Richard Supanich took the leap from single-family-home ownership to condo living and haven’t looked back since. They purchased their St. Louis Hills home right out of college and thought they’d spend the rest of their lives there; but as time went on their plans began to change. “As we’ve gotten older, we want to travel more,” says Peggy. Ready for a move and always looking at real estate, she convinced her husband to walk through one Sunday after church. The minute the family stepped into the entryway she thought to herself, we are going to live here.

“Please don’t use the word ‘updated.’ The owners are celebrating their 25th anniversary in this home, and there’s always some amazing project going on, keeping it fresh and new.”  That’s designer Heidi Hartwig describing her clients’ spacious custom two-story in Chesterfield. And, as if to punctuate her statement, the sound of hammering upstairs is explained as a “refreshing” of the master bath, currently in progress.
