Updating a tired, builder-grade material bathroom into a glamorous spa-like retreat was the priority for the homeowner and task for a designer at Marcia Moore Design. While the space they had to work with was grand, the products were drab. One of the client’s must-haves was a freestanding tub with bubble jets as well as a floating vanity. The designer removed the drop-in tub, tub surround and large pillars to immediately open up the space. The first material chosen was an iridescent accent tile. Cascading sconces complement and draw attention to the waterfall feel of the accent tile. The cabinets are custom made and include custom inserts that store and organize the homeowner’s items at their exact specifications. Under-cabinet lighting adds a soft glow. Shining chrome fixtures and additional chrome accents heighten the spa feel. The bathroom now not only looks stunning, but functions exactly as the homeowner wants.

Why the judges love it: The new design now is so open, clean, fresh, sleek and sophisticated. We love the detail on the vanities and under-cabinet lighting.
