A young, hardworking couple requested that Chelsea Design Company transform their kitchen into a bright, classic space ideal for entertaining and cooking. The original kitchen had a U-shaped peninsula and tiny center island. The space wasn’t ideal for entertaining as it was secluded from the dining and living rooms. Chelsea Design Company removed existing soffits, widened the entry from the dining room and extended the wall separating the living room from the kitchen, which created a grand symmetrical moment at the stove wall.

    Classic

I adore breakfast and coffee bars in bedrooms. We have been including them in our designs for years. How wonderful to be able to wake up to your coffee brewing, or to get up in the middle of the night for a quick snack. The increase in popularity is due, in part, to clients traveling. You find breakfast bars in luxury hotel rooms and Air BnBs.  I love having my cup of tea with me to sip on while I am getting ready. CJ Knapp, Yours by Design.

These homeowners were looking for a charming updated kitchen that connected to the outdoors, functioned for everyday living and offered island seating for the entire family. Liston Design Build reconfigured the layout increasing the overall footprint by extending cabinetry to the ceiling and incorporating a small bar area between the kitchen and dining room. Soft gray upper cabinets paired with white-and-blue veined quartz countertops provide a beautiful canvas for the space.
